The Timeless Vortex

This game was made for the 2022 GameDev.tv Game Jam and the theme was "Death is only the beginning"

This is a simple 2D top down zombie shooter where every time you die the story progresses. The theme is therefore used in two ways, Zombies, and progression of story.

Controls can be found once you start the game. Hope you enjoy!

Things I would have liked to have added but didn't have the time: 

Add leaderboards
Update AI Pathing while game is running
Add a flashlight and make the scene dark
Add more weapons and weapon switching
Make it so tiles take time to destroy
Create level 5
Create level 6
Add weapon pickups
Make it so killing enemies provides a small amount of gold
Total gold collected is saved in player prefs
Add skin shop and implement skins into the game
Add a player skin object that sticks around for the entire playthrough so the player object can pull the proper sprite
Add a basic achievement list using player prefs, create an achievement tab in the main menu and make it so certain achievements grant skins in the skin shop
